3rd December 2021
To All V.Ships Seafarers and Families
We all hope that you remain safe and well!
Our last letter that was sent to all of you at the end of September provided information on the benefits of being fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
Over the past 6-months, thousands of you have been fully vaccinated in your home country or onboard our managed vessels during a port call. Being fully vaccinated, you will benefit from greater health protection for you and your family, fewer travel restrictions as well as providing greater protection for your colleagues onboard.
In addition, V.Group and our customers see Covid-19 vaccinations becoming the general practice in the industry, as it is demanded by more airlines, ports and transit countries.
The benefits of being fully vaccinated are overwhelming and we have taken the decision that all VGroup seafarers who join a vessel from 15th February 2022 must be fully vaccinated against Covid-19.
The deadline is 10 weeks away and this allows those on leave, sufficient time to become fully vaccinated.
While on leave, your local crewing office is available to provide assistance and guidance to help you get the vaccination(s). If you are onboard a vessel, you should take every opportunity to become fully vaccinated.
When you are fully vaccinated, you are required to upload the vaccination documents via the V.Crew Connect App. Full instructions are provided on page 2 of this letter and if you have any problems, contact your local crewing team. If for any reason you are on leave and cannot be fully vaccinated before 15th February 2022, you are required to inform your crewing team immediately.
By taking this step, V.Group is promoting the health of all of you and making the vessels a safer place to work.
Many thanks to all of you. Please stay safe and stay healthy and we thank you for your cooperation!
